A.F.I. scraps remaining tour dates due to singer's throat problems
A.F.I.--also known as A Fire Inside--has canceled the remainder of its recently launched U.S. tour.
Doctors have ordered singer Davey Havok to "start immediate voice rest or risk serious damage to his vocal cords," according to a press release.
"We have never cancelled any shows and are deeply disappointed to have to cancel these shows," the group said in a statement. "Unfortunately our only course of action is clear. We truly regret any inconvenience to our fans."
A.F.I., which launched the outing in mid-February, was on the road in support of its major-label debut, "Sing the Sorrow," which surfaced in March. The set includes the cuts "Girl's Not Grey" and "The Leaving Song Pt. 2," both of which are streaming at the band's official website.
Though "Sing the Sorrow" is A.F.I.'s first major-label release, the group's catalog dates back to its 1996 indie debut, "Very Proud of Ya."
Earlier this year, Alternative Press magazine announced that its readers had selected A.F.I. for the publication's annual Lifetime Achievement Award. Previous recipients include Green Day (2002), The Cure (2001) and David Bowie (2000).
