Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Brooks & Dunn lead ACM nominations

The 39th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be a manly affair, with male artists dominating the top categories.

Alan Jackson picked up eight nominations to lead the pack, while Brooks & Dunn and Toby Keith garnered five nods apiece. Martina McBride --the only female artist to pick up multiple nominations--and Jimmy Buffett are vying for four awards each.

Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley each earned three nominations, and Tim McGraw, Montgomery Gentry and Randy Travis each received a pair.

Nominees were announced during a Wednesday (3/10) press conference in Los Angeles, which was attended by ACM executive producer Dick Clark and country stars Terri Clark, Montgomery Gentry and Brad Paisley.

The ACM's will be handed out during a May 26 ceremony at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Reba McEntire will host the event, which will be broadcast live on CBS-TV.

Presenters and performers haven't been announced.
