A Perfect Circle expands spring tour plans

As the launch date of the group's North American arena tour nears, A Perfect Circle extends the run well into the spring.

Dates for the outing, which kicks off in the Salt Lake City area on March 18, now stretch into mid-May. Tickets for most shows are on sale now.

The group is holding a contest through which fans have a chance to win four free passes and airline tickets to see the band perform in Camden, NJ, on May 1. Details are posted at the group's website.

The mood-rockers are touring in support of their sophomore set, "Thirteenth Step," which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 album chart last fall. The album features the lead-off single "Weak & Powerless," and follow-up track "The Outsider."

"Thirteenth Step" is A Perfect Circle's first to feature bassist Jeordie White, a.k.a. ex-Marilyn Manson member Twiggy Ramirez. The group also features former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, who joined the group after "Thirteenth Step" was recorded.

Rounding out the lineup are original members vocalist Maynard James Keenan (also of Tool), guitarist Billy Howerdel and drummer Josh Freese.

"Thirteenth Step" is the follow up to A Perfect Circle's platinum-certified 2000 debut, "Mer de Noms," which spawned the hits "Judith" and "3 Libras."

On Monday (3/15), A Perfect Circle will perform on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
