Heart pumps out new album and tour
Heart releases its first new studio album in more than a decade this summer, and backs the set with a lengthy U.S. tour.
The sister duo--Ann and Nancy Wilson--launches the outing with a May 29 performance in its home city of Seattle, then heads to Europe for a round of shows before tackling the U.S. in late July, August and September.
The tour supports the group's forthcoming album "Jupiter's Darling." The set--which is the group's first new studio collection since 1993's "Desire Walks On"--is due out in June, according to the band's website.
In conjunction with the tour announcement and new album, Heart has launched a new fan club dubbed Heart Mongers. Members who purchase an annual membership will have a shot at concert tickets before the general public, among other benefits.
Fan-club members will also have an opportunity to attend a May 27 dress-rehearsal concert, and a July taping of CMT's "Cross Roads." Information is posted at the group's website.
Other promotional activity for "Jupiter's Darling" includes a June 26 appearance on "The Today Show."
"Jupiter's Darling" follows last year's "Alive in Seattle," which captures the final stop on Heart's 2002 tour.
In 2002, Sony's Legacy Recordings issued "The Essential Heart," a two-disc set featuring digitally remastered versions of Heart's slew of '70s- and '80s-era hits, such as "Crazy On You," "Barracuda," "Magic Man," "What About Love," "Never" and "These Dreams."
