Phish unveils summer dates, festival announcement expected soon

Phish has assembled a relatively light touring schedule for the summer, with plans to visit a total of seven cities in June and August.

The popular jam band will play two outdoor shows each in Brooklyn, NY; Saratoga Springs, NY; Noblesville, IN; East Troy, WI; and Mansfield, MA; as well as a single show in Camden, NJ.

A limited number of tickets for the tour will be sold through the band's ticketing system beginning on April 21; tickets go on sale through traditional outlets on the weekend of May 15, according to the band's website.

Northern Vermont will likely host a Phish festival on the weekend of Aug. 14 and 15. "The process is going well and we hope to announce definitive details before the end of the month," said a statement posted on the site.

Phish entered their Vermont studio earlier this year with producer and engineer Tchad Blake (Los Lobos, Pearl Jam) to begin work on a new album that is expected to hit stores by mid-June. The band's most-recent studio album is 2002's "Round Room."

Meanwhile, Phish singer/guitarist Trey Anastasio earlier this month issued a new instrumental album titled "Seis de Mayo," which features seven compositions that he wrote and recorded over the last two years.
