Shania Twain to launch new round of North American dates

Shania Twain , who just finished up the European leg of her world tour, returns to the North American arena circuit this month.

Twain's latest batch of shows kicks off in Pensacola, FL, on April 19; the show was originally due to take place on April 13, but organizers pushed the date back after Twain extended the European outing.

Other shows affected include an originally scheduled April 16 performance in New Orleans, which is now set for June 29; and an April 17 stop in Birmingham, AL, now set for June 30. The complete itinerary--which currently stretches into mid-July--is shown below.

Following the tour's April 19 kick-off, Twain heads to Nashville for an April 21 performance at the CMT Flame Worthy Awards. Twain is nominated in two of the event's categories: Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year, both for "Forever and for Always."

Fans determine the winners by casting votes at CMT's website. The ceremony will air live on CMT.

Twain continues to back her 2002 album "Up!" The set debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart and has sold more than 9 million copies worldwide to date, according to Mercury Nashville. Her previous release, 1997's "Come On Over," has sold more than 34 million copies worldwide, and ranks as one of the top-selling female solo albums in history.

Last November, Mercury Nashville issued "Shania Twain Up! Live in Chicago," a DVD featuring Twain's July 27 performance at Chicago's Grant Park. The concert originally aired on NBC in August; the DVD includes six songs not shown during the televised special.
