Jewel adds summer dates to latest outing

Jewel [ tickets ], who just wrapped up a swing through the South, has added a new round of Midwestern dates to her summer tour plans.

The singer/songwriter returns to the road at the end of the month for a one-off date at New York City's Carnegie Hall, then focuses on the Northeast in May, the West in June, and returns to the Midwest in July.

Members of Jewel's official fan club have access to a limited supply of members-only tickets and meet-and-greet packages, according to her website. Ticket pre-sale and on-sale information for most of the new July dates was still pending at press time.

Hardcore fans have a chance to purchase front-row seats and meet-and-greet passes for some of the upcoming dates via a charity auction. Proceeds will "benefit humanitarian causes worldwide," according to auction details. More information is posted at Jewel's website.

Late last month, Jewel released "Live at Humphrey's by the Bay," a DVD recorded during her 2001 tour. In addition to the concert, the disc also features a photo gallery, behind-the-scenes footage and a previously unseen interview.

Jewel's latest album, "0304," surfaced last June. The set features the cuts "Intuition" and "2 Become 1."
