Punk rockers come out for Joey Ramone Birthday Bash

This year's Joey Ramone Birthday Bash charity concert--headlined by an all-star group of the late punk-rocker's friends--will also feature Supersuckers, Alkaline Trio, The Dickies, Bebe Buell, Sic F---s and Slashtones.

Ex-Ramones Marky and Tommy will head up a group dubbed Friends of Joey Ramone, which will also feature Cheetah Chrome (Dead Boys), Jeff Magnum (Dead Boys), Andy Shernoff (The Dictators), Richard Lloyd (Television), Walter Lure (Heartbreakers), and Mickey Leigh and Al Maddy (from Joey Ramone's Solo Record).

The concert is set for May 19 at New York City's Irving Plaza, and proceeds will benefit the Lymphoma Foundation, according to a press release.

The Lucky Devil Circus and Coney Island Sideshow will provide entertainment through the night, and special guests scheduled to appear include emcee Matt Pinfield (KROCK, MTV), actress P.J. Soles, (who starred with The Ramones in their film, "Rock 'n' Roll High School") and Little Steven (The E Street Band, "The Sopranos").

Rare Ramones videos will be screened throughout the night.

This year's show is the fourth that Joey Ramone's mother and brother have organized to celebrate his birthday and to raise money for charity.

In conjunction with this year's event, a silent auction of celebrity-signed and designed T-shirts will take place at joeyramone.com. Bidding on one-of-a-kind items from The Ramones, Iggy Pop, Cheap Trick, Blondie, Talking Heads, Bono, Steven Tyler and others will continue online through May 21.

May 19 would have marked Joey Ramone's 53rd birthday. The lead singer of The Ramones died of Lymphoma on April 15, 2001.
