Simon and Garfunkel reveal new round of Old Friends tour dates
Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel--who last year mounted a reunion tour after a 10-year separation--reprise the run this summer.
So far, the duo has lined up June and July stops in Albany, NY; Uncasville, CT; Philadelphia; Buffalo, NY; Cincinnati; Los Angeles; and Las Vegas. Tickets for the various dates will hit the box office between April 24 and May 1, according to promoters; details are shown below.
The pair plans to add "many more dates" to the outing, according to the official Simon & Garfunkel website. The site plans to offer ticket pre-sales in advance of the general on-sale dates; specific pre-sale information was not available at press time.
Last year's Old Friends outing sprang up in the wake of Simon & Garfunkel's performance at the 2003 Grammy Awards, where they received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The event marked their first performance together in a decade.
Prior to the Old Friends tour, Simon & Garfunkel had not toured together since the early eighties; the pair did, however, give a number of New York City concerts in 1993.
As a duo, Simon & Garfunkel have sold more than 40 million albums in the U.S., according to a publicist. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
Last fall, Columbia/Legacy released "The Essential Simon and Garfunkel," a two-disc career retrospective.
