Radiohead called off its last show in Melbourne, Australia, after frontman Thom Yorke came down with a throat infection.

According to joint press release issued by promoter Michael Chugg Entertainment and Radiohead's manager, Yorke "developed a significant loss of vocal quality" during the band's Monday (4/27) performance in Melbourne, "and was barely able to finish the concert."

A doctor later diagnosed the singer with "marked hoarseness of voice, a significant upper airway infection and associated heavy inflammation of his vocal chords," the statement said.

As of press time, Radiohead was still expected to appear at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, CA, on Saturday (5/1).

Lisa Marx, formerly of the Seattle hardcore band To See You Broken, has joined Kittie as a second guitarist, according to an announcement on Kittie's website.

"Lisa brings a wide-eyed excitement that really shows this is all she has ever wanted to do," vocalist/guitarist Morgan Lander said in a statement. "She has been playing piano and guitar for years, and has tons of touring experience. She's the kind of person who isn't going to back down or quit."

Marx replaces Jeff Phillips, who was the band's guitar tech before becoming its touring guitarist.

A mistrial was declared on Tuesday (3/27) in an attempted murder case against rapper Beanie Sigel that stems from a 2003 shooting outside a Philadelphia bar. The jury deliberated for five days, but was unable to reach a verdict, according to published reports.

Sigel could have been sent to prison for up to 40 years if convicted. Prosecutors may ask for a new trial.
