The Corrs back 'Borrowed Heaven' with North American tour
With their first studio album since 2000 soon due in stores, Irish quartet The Corrs has lined up more than a month of North American tour dates.
The trek gets underway in Calgary on Aug. 2, and visits about two dozen cities in the U.S. and Canada through early September.
A June 1 release date is scheduled in Canada for the new album, titled "Borrowed Heaven," and a June 8 release is planned for the U.S. The set's first single, "Summer Sunshine," is streaming along with its companion video at The Corrs' official website.
"Borrowed Heaven" is the group's first studio album since 2000's platinum-certified "In Blue." The new set was recorded in Dublin and Los Angeles, and was produced by Olle Romo.
The quartet--which consists of three sisters and one brother--wrote all of the tracks on "Borrowed Heaven" except for "Time Enough for Tears," the Golden Globe-nominated theme for the 2003 film "In America." U2's Bono co-wrote that song with Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer; Andrea Corr performed it on the movie's soundtrack.
Ladysmith Black Mambazo contributes backup vocals to "Borrowed Heaven"'s title track.
The Corrs percussionist Caroline Corr and her husband, Frank, are expecting their second child in October. She plans to complete the group's upcoming tour before taking time off.
