Alice Cooper 'Eyes' more summer tour dates
Shock-rock pioneer Alice Cooper takes another swing through North America this summer as he continues to support last year's "The Eyes of Alice Cooper."
Cooper launches the outing in Wisconsin on July 9, and dates are stacked up through late August. Also on Cooper's itinerary are a handful of October shows, all set in the western U.S.
Backing Cooper during the outing are guitarists Eric Dover and Ryan Roxie, bassist Chuck Garric and new drummer Tommy Clufetos, who replaces longtime Cooper bandmate Eric Singer; Singer recently rejoined KISS, with whom he'll be touring this summer.
Cooper and his band recorded the new set "in a minimalist garage-like studio setting," according to a press release. All of the musicians recorded their parts simultaneously, and little overdubbing was allowed.
Overseeing the project was producer Mudrock (Godsmack, Powerman 5000), who was brought on board after Cooper unexpectedly ran into him at a rehearsal studio while preparing for the new album.
"We'd been talking about some of the records we listen to and like, and Mudrock's work kept coming up," Cooper said in a press release. "That he might actually be next door never occurred to us. And he helped us make exactly the album we wanted to make."
