Rockers 3 Doors Down [ tickets ] have launched the Better Life Foundation, a charity to benefit children and young adults with special needs.

The Mississippi-based band has primed the non-profit organization's coffers with $90,000 it raised for Gulf Coast charities at a March 26 concert.

"Confessions," the latest from R&B singer Usher [ tickets ], is spending its seventh week at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart, but not without a close trail behind.

Country singer Gretchen Wilson's "Here for the Party," debuts this week at No. 2 with about 227,000 copies sold, just 1,000 behind Usher, according to Billboard.

Rap duo 8Ball and MJG's "Living Legends" debuts at No. 3, while D12's "D12 World" slips two places to No. 4. Hoobastank's "The Reason" moves up one place to claim the No. 5 slot.

Jazz drummer Elvin Jones [ tickets ], best known as a member of John Coltrane [ tickets ]'s quartet, reportedly died of heart failure at a New Jersey hospital on Tuesday (5/18). He was 76.

After his stint with Coltrane--which made him one of jazz music's most famous drummers--Jones embarked on a lengthy solo career, and continued to perform concerts until shortly before his death.

Punk mainstays The Vandals [ tickets ] will issue their 12th studio album, "Hollywood Potato Chip," on June 29. Among the album's 13 tracks is a cover of Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now."

The Vandals have appeared on the Vans Warped Tour in nine of the event's 10 years; they're on the bill again this summer.
