The Hives return in July with new album, club dates
Swedish garage-rockers The Hives are at work on their third album and plan to embark on a North American club tour this summer.
The quintet is currently recording in a South Sweden studio and will issue a new, as-yet-untitled album on July 20, according to Interscope Records. The club jaunt launches on the same day in Washington, DC, and will visit a dozen cities in two weeks.
The Hives issued their debut album, "Barely Legal," in 1997, and followed it with 2000's "Veni, Vidi, Vicious," which featured the singles "Hate to Say I Told You So" and "Main Offender."
Also on the group's itinerary is a June 12 appearance at Southern California's KROQ Weenie Roast, a festival that will also feature The Strokes, Beastie Boys, Bad Religion, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Velvet Revolver, Cypress Hill, Modest Mouse, Hoobastank, The Killers, New Found Glory, Yellowcard and Story of the Year.
