IUMA To Enable MP3 Sales For Hosted Artists

The Internet Underground Musical Archive will allow its artists to sell MP3 tracks on their sites in June, a company representative said.

The new program was in response to artists' requests. Artists can currently sell their CDs and offer free MP3 tracks and RealAudio streams on the site, which splits all revenues, including band site ad impressions, with bands 50/50.

In March, the site will introduce a 100-campus battle of the bands called "MusicOMania." Fans will vote on the groups, and the top four will open for Primus at a San Francisco show.
