Brad Cotter leads 'Nashville Star' tour through North America
Brad Cotter , winner of this year's USA Network talent competition " Nashville Star ," and the show's three runners-up will traverse the U.S. and Canada during a tour that runs from June through August.
The outing is so far scheduled to visit 28 cities and more may be added, according to organizers.
For his "Nashville Star" victory, Cotter was awarded a recording contract with Sony Music Nashville. Many country radio stations are already playing the 33-year-old Alabaman's first single, "I Meant To," which Cotter co-wrote. His debut album, "Patient Man," hits stores on July 6.
Cotter has worked in Nashville as a songwriter and demo singer for eight years, but his previous attempts to land a record deal were unsuccessful.
Joining Cotter on the tour will be "Nashville Star" runners-up George Canyon, Matt Lindahl and Lance Miller.
"The Nashville Star Tour will recreate the energy and feel of the TV series," said Brinson Strickland of tour producer 262 Five, Ltd., in a statement. "The video screens at each concert venue will run highlights of each performer's segments from the series of shows."
He added that the Nashville Star Band--the same group of musicians that played on the television show--will be traveling with the tour and backing up each performer.
Last year's "Nashville Star" winner, Buddy Jewell, has already scored two Top 10 country singles and a gold album since his debut.
