Toby Keith dominates 39th annual ACM Awards

Toby Keith racked up four trophies at Wednesday night's (5/25) Academy of Country Music Awards ceremony, including his second consecutive win for the event's top honor, Entertainer of the Year.

Keith's other wins included Top Male Vocalist, Album of the Year for "Shock 'N Y'all," and ACM/Launch Video of the Year for "Beer for My Horses," his duet with Willie Nelson .

Martina McBride , Alan Jackson and Willie Nelson were the night's other multiple-award winners; McBride picked up her third consecutive win for Top Female Vocalist, as well as the Humanitarian Award, while Jackson's duet with Jimmy Buffett, "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere," claimed wins in the Single Record of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year categories.

Keith and Kenny Chesney presented Nelson--who shared the ACM/Launch Video of the Year award with Keith--with the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award "for his unprecedented and genre-defying contributions to popular music over his nearly 50-year career," according to the ACM. It was only the fourth time in the Academy's 39-year history that the award--which "acknowledges unprecedented, unique and outstanding individual achievement in country music"--was handed out; previous recipients include George Strait (2002) and Garth Brooks (1997).

Ray Price was honored with the Academy of Country Music Pioneer Award--also known as "The Cliffie" in honor of Cliffie Stone--which is presented to an outstanding pioneer of country music.

Other winners included Rascal Flatts for Top Vocal Group; Dierks Bentley for Top New Artist; and Brooks & Dunn for Top Vocal Duo.

Reba McEntire hosted the event, which took place at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, and aired live on CBS.
