X-ecutioners pack their turntables for club tour
Three-man DJ crew The X-ecutioners are set to drop a new album titled "Revolutions" on June 8, and have lined up more than a month of club dates to support the disc.
The outing launches in New Haven, CT, on June 2, and several shows will feature support from Northern State and Wylde Bunch . Details are in the itinerary below.
The X-ecutioners' roots date back to a 1989 New York City underground collective known as the X-Men. The group's current lineup includes Roc Raida, Rob Swift and Total Eclipse.
In 1998, The X-ecutioners' first Loud Records album, "Built from Scratch," entered the Billboard 200 album chart at No. 15, and spawned the single "I'm Goin' Down," featuring Linkin Park. The track remained in the Top 20 on Billboard's Modern Rock Singles chart for eight weeks.
Over the years, The X-ecutioners have collaborated with many of hip-hop's biggest names, including Common, Xzibit, Wu-Tang Clan's Ghostface Killah and Inspectah Deck, and Organized Konfusion. The new X-ecutioners album, "Revolutions," features guest appearances by Rob Zombie, Cypress Hill's B-Real, Dead Prez, Fat Joe and The Roots' Black Thought, among others.
The X-ecutioners issued a tutorial DVD for DJs titled "Built to Scratch" in February.
Female hip-hop trio Northern State issues their as-yet-untitled sophomore album on Aug. 17. The Wylde Bunch's debut album, "Wylde Tymes at Washington High," is due in stores on July 27.
