Clint Black takes to the streets to back 'Spend My Time'

Country singer/songwriter Clint Black returns to the road this summer to support his new album, "Spend My Time," his first collection of new studio material in five years.

Black begins his road work with a June 11 appearance at Nashville's CMA Music Festival (a.k.a. Fan Fair), after which he'll focus on the U.S. casino and fair circuits.

"Spend My Time" is Black's ninth album, and his first for new label Equity Music Group. The set is the follow up to 1999's "D'lectrified."

Black parted ways with longtime label RCA three years ago with the release of his second greatest-hits collection.

"I was supposed to deliver one more studio album to RCA, but managed to get out of the deal early," Black said in a statement. "It was time to move on."

After weighing his options, Black decided to opt out of the major-label system. He signed with Equity, a label formed by former Sony executive Mike Kraski that is billed as more artist-friendly than typical labels because it allows its artists to retain ownership of their own master tapes.
