Illness causes Fleetwood Mac postponements, cancellations
An illness in the band has led Fleetwood Mac to postpone a handful of shows, and to cancel several others.
The group, which was due to perform in Scranton, PA, on Tuesday (6/1), has moved that show to June 10, and has bumped its June 5 performance in Hershey, PA, back to June 12.
Also postponed is Thursday's (6/3) performance in Camden, NJ; a make-up date was not available at press time.
The juggling has resulted in the outright cancellation of the group's June 10 performance in the Pittsburgh area and its June 12 performance in Tinley Park, IL. Ticket refunds are available at the point of purchase, according to organizers.
The scheduling changes come in the wake of last week's cancellation of a May 26 engagement in Bristow, VA. Since then, the group performed as planned in Mansfield, MA, on May 28, and in Holmdel, NJ, on May 29.
The group has not revealed who in the band is ill, nor the nature of the illness. A spokesperson could not be reached by press time.
In a review of the group's May 28 show posted at the band's official fan-club website, one concertgoer commented that singer Stevie Nicks "seemed like she may not be feeling well ... ."
Fleetwood Mac is touring behind last year's "Say You Will," which is the band's first studio album since 1986's "Tango in the Night" to feature Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. Keyboardist-vocalist Christine McVie has retired from the group.
On June 15, the band issues "Fleetwood Mac Live in Boston," a concert DVD filmed last September.
Fleetwood Mac's tour is scheduled to resume in Wantagh, NY, on Sunday (6/6).
