The Raveonettes [ tickets ] continue to support their first full-length album, "Chain Gang of Love," with a round of late-summer club shows.

The Danish duo has booked a two-week run that kicks off in New York City on Aug. 14, and is currently scheduled to visit 11 cities. Most shows are set in the eastern U.S.

Released last September, "Chain Gang of Love" is the follow-up to The Raveonettes' 2002 debut EP, "Whip It On," which early last year won the Danish Music Award for best rock album.

Sune Rose Wagner (guitar, vocals) and Sharin Foo (bass, vocals) teamed up as a result of their "mutual disenchantment with the state of music," according to their record-label biography.

"Singing together came so easy for us, it was pretty magical," Foo--a six-foot-tall natural blond who is a quarter Chinese, according to The Raveonettes' website--said in a statement. "If you remove one or the other it's definitely not the same. We add up to more as a whole."

Wagner co-produced "Whip It On" and "Chain Gang of Love" with veteran producer Richard Gottehrer, who wrote the '60s hits "My Boyfriend's Back" and "I Want Candy," and produced hit albums from Blondie, The Go-Go's and others.

"When I first heard The Raveonettes, it took me back to the great days of the punk revolution of New York City," Gottehrer said in a statement. "The energy and excitement of that time is captured in their music with all the added power of today's sound."
