KMFDM sets up West Coast shows, readies live CD, DVD
Veteran industrial outfit KMFDM offers up a new live CD and DVD this summer, and prepares for a supporting world tour with a brief series of U.S. club and theater dates.
The group has lined up a short stretch of West Coast shows that kick off on June 19 in Portland, OR, and wrap up in Seattle on June 25. Details are shown below. A European trek follows in July; the band may return to the states later this summer, according to a spokesperson.
Last fall, KMFDM mounted a full-scale U.S. tour to support its most-recent studio set, "WWIII," which surfaced in September. That outing resulted in the group's forthcoming live material, titled "WWIII Tour 2003."
The DVD version of the release hits stores on June 22, and, in addition to concert footage, also features a look backstage, interviews with the band and crew, photo slideshows, tour-journal entries from the band and crew, studio footage from the "WWIII" recording sessions, song lyrics and more, according to a press release.
The CD version follows on July 27, and features the same track listing as the DVD, plus the bonus cut "Ultra."
Founded in France in 1984, KMFDM has featured various lineup changes over the years. The current roster features group founder Sascha "Kapt'n K" Konietzko (vocals, keyboards/synths, drums), Raymond Watts (vocals, guitar), Lucia Cifarelli (vocals), Bill Rieflin (bass), Joolz Hodgson (guitar), Steve White (guitar) and Andy Selway (drums).
In 1999, KMFDM issued an album titled "Adios," which it said at the time would be its final release. The group reunited for 2002's "Attak."
