Britney Spears injures knee during video shoot

Britney Spears is undergoing arthroscopic surgery to repair a knee she injured Tuesday night (6/8) during a video shoot, according to her record-label publicist.

According to a statement issued by Jive Records, Spears was hurt during the filming of her new video for "Outrageous," the fourth single from her 2003 album, "In the Zone."

"She was shooting the video in Queens, NY, and had just completed scenes with Snoop Dogg while doing choreography under the L train line on Roosevelt Avenue when her knee gave out," the statement said. "She was immediately taken to a local hospital where she received an MRI scan. It was discovered by the doctors on call that she has floating cartilage in her knee."

It wasn't immediately known if the injury would affect plans for the second North American leg of her Onyx Hotel tour, which is scheduled to get underway on June 22.
