Britney Spears calls off tour due to injury

Britney Spears , who was scheduled to launch the next leg of her Onyx Hotel Tour in Hartford, CT, later this month, has canceled the outing due to an injury she suffered during a recent video shoot, according to Jive Records.

Spears suffered what a press release described as "severe damage" to her leg when she fell last week while filming a video in the New York City borough of Queens. At the time, she was working on a clip for "Outrageous," the fourth single from her 2003 album, "In the Zone."

Spears since has undergone arthroscopic knee surgery at a New York hospital to repair the injury, but she will have her knee in a hard brace for six weeks, followed by at least eight to 12 weeks of rehabilitation, according to her label publicist.
