Industrial-metal outfit Static-X [ tickets ] offers up a new rarities collection this summer, and backs the set with a round of concerts.

The stretch of shows kicks off in late July and currently stretches through the end of August. Most dates are billed as the Family Picnic Tour, which features additional acts , Lo-Pro [ tickets ], Soil [ tickets ] and TrustCompany; Static-X will also squeeze in a number of its own headlining dates before and during the Family Picnic run. On July 20, Static-X drops "Beneath, Between, Beyond," an 18-track set that features previously released cuts culled from soundtracks, compilations and tribute albums, as well as a handful of demos and the previously unreleased tracks "Breathe" and "Head." The complete track list--which includes the group's cover of Black Sabbath's "Behind the Wall of Sleep" from the 2000 tribute album Nativity in Black, "So Real" from the "Scream 3" soundtrack and "Deliver Me" from last year's "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" soundtrack--is posted at the band's website.

Last fall, Static-X issued its most recent studio set, "Shadow Zone." The album, which is the follow-up to 2001's "Machine," is the group's third full-length, and is its first with former Dope guitarist Tripp Eisen, who replaced original guitarist Koichi Fukuda shortly after "Machine" was completed.

Original drummer Ken Jay exited the group before work on "Shadow Zone" began, so the group enlisted A Perfect Circle drummer Josh Freese for the recording process. Static-X founders Wayne Static (vocals) and Tony Campos (bass) have since recruited drummer Nick Oshiro as Jay's permanent replacement.
