Usher, Kanye West join forces for The Truth Tour

Dates are surfacing for R&B star Usher 's The Truth Tour, a summer/fall outing that will also feature hip-hop producer and solo artist Kanye West .

Fewer than 10 shows--all arena dates--were confirmed at press time, but organizers are expected to announce additional shows soon.

Usher's most recent album, "confessions," has so far spent nine weeks at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart, but was supplanted from the top spot last week by Velvet Revolver's debut.

Over the course of his short career, the 24-year-old singer/songwriter has won two Grammy Awards, three Soul Train Music Awards, a BET Award, a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award, two Teen Choice awards and three Billboard Music Awards, among others, according to his label biography.

Chicago-bred Kanye West--who successfully made the jump from writer/producer to recording artist this with his debut album, "The College Dropout"--joins Usher on the tour. West first made his mark creating beats for Britney Spears, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Mos Def and many others; he signed with Roc-A-Fella Records in 2002.

Released on Feb. 10, "The College Dropout" debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 album chart and has been certified platinum for shipping more than a million copies.
