Everlast takes new material out for a spin

Rapper/singer Everlast supports his recently released album, "White Trash Beautiful," with a summer run on the North American club circuit.

The outing kicks off in Las Vegas on June 27, and dates are set until early August; details appear below. Tickets for many of the stops are on sale now.

Alt-rock outfit Buddahead opens on all dates. The group is touring behind its debut set, "Crossing the Invisible Line," which surfaced in May.

"White Trash Beautiful," which also hit stores in May, is the follow-up to 2000's "Eat at Whitey's." The new set's title track and companion music video are streaming at Everlast's website.

"The bulk of these songs are inspired by a relationship I was involved in over the past few years, which I managed to screw up, just like most of them," Everlast said of the new album in a statement. "I guess that's just where the good songs come from, you're either dealing with love or death."

"White Trash Beautiful" is Everlast's first album for Island/Def Jam, with whom he signed after his previous label, Tommy Boy, sold its catalog to Warner Brothers last year. Tommy Boy issued his first post-House of Pain solo set, 1998's "Whitey Ford Sings the Blues"--which spawned the runaway hit "What It's Like"--and "Eat at Whitey's."
