Destiny's Child to perform for Pepsi sweepstakes

R&B trio Destiny's Child is preparing to emerge in the coming months from its two-year hiatus with a new album that will be preceded by a fall appearance on Pepsi's "Play for a Billion" television show.

The group plans to perform new songs from its upcoming sixth album before a live audience in Los Angeles in September. One of the songs from the performance will air exclusively on the "Play for a Billion" TV game show, which airs on ABC on Sept. 12.

"We are really looking forward to getting back on stage and performing together as a group," Beyonce Knowles said in a statement. "The Pepsi 'Play for a Billion' show is a great place to share our new music with the millions of viewers who will tune in to see if someone wins that billion dollar prize."

In the Pepsi sweepstakes, one player will be eligible to win at least $1 million, and possibly $1 billion. Actor/comic Damon Wayans will host the game show. Details about the sweepstakes are posted at the contest's website.

Destiny's Child's as-yet-untitled fifth album is expected to hit stores in November, according to Columbia Records. It will be the follow up to the trio's smash 2001 set, "Survivor."
