Rod Stewart readies for summer tour kick-off
Rod Stewart returns to the road in July for another stretch of shows that will find the singer delivering hits from throughout his career.
Dubbed the "From Maggie May to the Great American Songbook" tour, the run kicks off in Orlando on Friday (7/1), and is scheduled to touch down at amphitheaters throughout the U.S. and Canada through August. The outing is Stewart's second two-month North American run this year; he mounted the previous jaunt in March and April.
Fans can expect to hear Stewart sing a slew of hits including "Maggie May," "Tonight's the Night," "You're In My Heart," "Forever Young," "Downtown Train," "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" and "Have I Told You Lately," according to organizers.
Stewart's latest album is last October's double-platinum "The Great American Songbook: Volume II," which is his second collection of pop standards; in 2002, he offered up "It Had To Be You ... The Great American Songbook," which entered The Billboard 200 album chart at No. 2, and has sold more than 4 million copies worldwide, according to Stewart's camp.
