Gloria Estefan claims she'll say goodbye to touring

Gloria Estefan , in an open letter to her fans, has announced that her upcoming tour will be her last.

"Music has been one of the most beautiful things in my life and will always be a very big part of who I am and what I do," she said in a statement posted on her official website. "And although I will continue writing and recording and doing everything else that comes with this incredible way of life, this next tour will be my last."

Estefan, who hasn't mounted a full-blown tour since the mid-'90s, embarks on a major U.S. outing this summer to support her latest album, "Unwrapped." Released last September, "Unwrapped" features the singles "I Wish You" and "Hoy."

The singer rose to fame in the mid-'80s while fronting Miami Sound Machine, and is best known for hits such as "Conga," "Words Get in the Way" and "Rhythm is Gonna Get You." She has sold more than 70 million albums worldwide, according to tour promoter Clear Channel Entertainment.

While her upcoming trek is currently scheduled to visit about 30 U.S. markets, Estefan has left her farewell somewhat open-ended.

"I would love to take this tour as many places as we possibly can, like Europe, hopefully Asia and most definitely parts of Latin America," Estefan's statement said. "But as you know, we are living in very uncertain times based on so many things that affect each of us in the different places that we live. And although I can't promise that I will be everywhere I 'want' to go, you have my promise that I will do my best to get to as many places as I possibly can."
