Jill Scott looks to generate buzz with pre-release tour
Singer Jill Scott previews cuts from her forthcoming sophomore album during a pre-release tour of U.S. clubs and theaters.
Dubbed the Buzz Tour, Scott's outing kicks off in San Francisco on Friday (7/9), and dates stretch into early August. Details are shown below.
Scott, backed by a four-piece band, will play a 90-minute set at each stop, according to Hidden Beach Recordings. In addition to new material, her setlist will include cuts from her multi-platinum debut, 2001's "Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol. 1."
"I love performing live," Scott said in a statement. "This will give me a chance to reconnect with my fans and get immediate feedback on my new work."
The run ushers in Scott's sophomore album, "Beautifully Human: Words and Sounds Vol. 2," which lands in stores on Aug. 31.
