Emerson Drive rolling through North America
Though the group's lengthy stint aboard Shania Twain's tour comes to an end this week, Canadian country act Emerson Drive has plenty of roadwork ahead.
The group will remain on tour through November, playing a mix of fairs, festivals and headlining shows in the U.S. and Canada.
"What If?," Emerson Drive's sophomore release, hit stores last week. The Richard Marx-produced set is the follow-up to the group's self-titled 2002 debut.
"This is a better band now," Marx, who produced two tracks on Emerson Drive's debut, said in a statement. "There's a higher camaraderie factor. "Everybody's enjoying the process more."
Three new members have joined the group since its album was issued: keyboardist Dale Wallace, bassist Patrick Bourque and fiddler David Pichette. Pat Allingham, Jeff Loberg and Chris Hartman have exited the band.
Carryovers from the first album include frontman Brad Mates, guitarist Danick Dupelle and drummer Mike Melancon.
