Hall and Oates, Michael McDonald add dates to joint outing

Hall & Oates and Michael McDonald keep their Rock N Soul Revue Tour alive well into the fall with a new batch of shows.

After wrapping up the tour's current leg on July 18, the co-headliners return to the road on Aug. 18 for another round of U.S. dates that stretches into late October. Details are shown below.

Concertgoers can expect the shows to clock in at more than three hours, and can look forward to hearing "a collection of rock, soul and funk classics covering the past, the present and everything in between," according to a press release.

Hall & Oates were recently inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame during a ceremony in New York City. The event is due to air on the Bravo cable network on July 18, according to the official Hall & Oates website.

The duo is backing its 21st album, "Do It for Love," which surfaced last year. The set, which is the pair's first new studio effort since 1997's "Marigold Sky," features the singles "Forever for You," "Man on a Mission" and the album's title track.

The follow-up to "Do It for Love," tentatively titled "Our Kind of Soul," is expected to arrive in stores this fall. Described as a soul album, the forthcoming Hall & Oates set will "feature their patented blend of Philly style soul and melding harmonies on favorite classics as well as original material," according to a press release.

McDonald's most-recent release is last year's "Motown," which features the singer/keyboardist's interpretations of Motown classics such as "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," "Sign, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours," "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."

Holding down the tour's opening slot is Average White Band , which recently issued its first new studio album in six years, "Living In Colour." The set is currently available only at the band's live shows and via the group's website.
