Briefly: Elton John, Eminem, Christina Aguilera, iTunes
The four-DVD Elton John set "Dream Ticket," which features live performances of more than 70 songs as well as other previously unreleased material, will go on sale this fall exclusively via Best Buy stores and bestbuy.com.
A specific release date hasn't been announced for the set, which also includes previously unavailable photos and interviews.
Last year, Best Buy had the initial exclusive on The Rolling Stones' four-DVD set, "Four Flicks."
Eminem has signed a deal to create a hip-hop music station for Sirius Satellite Radio. The as-yet-unnamed station is expected to go on the air this fall.
Christina Aguilera 's lone scheduled summer performance, which was to take place on Saturday (7/10) in Pittsburgh, reportedly was scrapped after the concert's promoter filed for bankruptcy. More information is available at the event's website.
Apple Computer Inc. has announced that it has sold more than 100 million songs via its iTunes Music Store since its launch in April of 2003. While iTunes is the No. 1 legal download site in the U.S. by a large margin, it didn't meet Apple CEO Steve Jobs' sales goal of 100 million songs in the first year. About 70 million songs were sold during its first 12 months.
