Harry Connick Jr. revs up for more concerts
Harry Connick Jr. and his Big Band return on Thursday (7/15) from a three-week break in their "Only You" tour to launch another month of headlining dates.
Connick's plans also include August appearances at Rhode Island's Newport Jazz Festival and a September stop at the Tanglewood Jazz Festival in Lenox, MA.
The singer, pianist and composer continues to support his latest album, "Only You," which hit stores in February and debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 album chart. In March, he issued a DVD with the same title that captured Connick and his band performing earlier this year in Quebec City. The concert first aired in March as part of PBS's "Great Performances" series.
Connick continues to tend to his acting career; he appears in the new baseball movie "Mickey," which was written by John Grisham and directed by Hugh Wilson. The film, which was completed in 2001, was released in a limited number of markets in April, and is now available on DVD. More information is available at the film's website.
