Briefly: Prince, Nine Inch Nails, Alicia Keys, Stray Cats
Downloads of the track--the lyrics for which were written by Nikka Costa--are being sold for 77 cents to members of the club, and are available to non-members for 99 cents.
Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters reportedly laid down some drum tracks last week for the forthcoming Nine Inch Nails album "Bleeding Through."
"[Nine Inch Nails are] about to head back to New Orleans to begin work with [engineer] Alan Moulder," said a statement on the band's website. "We're in the midst of a very inspiring recording session that has everyone thrilled. We're working on a new batch of songs Trent just wrote and we cannot wait for you to hear them."
"Bleeding Through," which will be NIN's first studio set since 1999's "The Fragile," is expected to hit stores later this year.
Alicia Keys is scheduled to perform during a Sept. 25 show that will mark the first music festival to ever be held at the Great Wall of China.
The event, dubbed Wall of Hope - China 2004, reportedly will take place before an invitation-only audience of about 10,000 at the Great Wall's North Gate in Beijing.
The Stray Cats have reunited for a month-long tour of Europe. Each of the 17 shows on the tour will be recorded for release by Surfdog Records. All 17 CDs are scheduled for release in the U.S. in August.
The tour's July 17 stop at London's Brixton Academy will be filmed for release as a live CD/DVD collection titled "Rumble in Brixton."
