Linda Rondstadt created a stir at the Aladdin hotel and casino in Las Vegas on Saturday (7/18) when, during a performance there, she dedicated a cover version of the Eagles hit "Desperado" to "Fahrenheit 9/11" filmmaker Michael Moore.

According to a Las Vegas Sun report, the audience responded by erupting "into equal parts boos and cheers." Hundreds of fans walked out of the performance, and some reportedly defaced posters of the singer that were on display in the venue's lobby.

Aladdin President Bill Timmins, who was at the performance, reportedly instructed security to remove Ronstadt from the premises and had her belongings brought from her hotel room to her tour bus. Timmins "also sent word to Ronstadt that she was no longer welcome at the property for future performances," the Sun reported.

Britney Spears is threatening the New York Post with legal action after the paper ran on its front page last week a photo that it claimed showed the singer gulping down whiskey in the middle of the day; the singer insists the paper's claim is false.

"Ms. Spears intends to file a lawsuit against the New York Post and Bill Hoffmann, the writer of the article, unless the paper immediately issues an appropriate retraction, apology and financial settlement," lawyer Martin Singer said in a statement.

Spears claims that the small bottle she was photographed drinking from contained a nonalcoholic herbal supplement, and the vendor who allegedly sold her the beverage just before the photo was snapped backs up her claim, according to published reports.
