Jim Brickman lays groundwork for holiday tour
Pianist Jim Brickman has a light performance schedule lined up for the summer, but he'll kick things into high gear during his annual Jim Brickman & Friends Holiday Tour.
Brickman--whose remaining summer itinerary consists of a Saturday (7/24) performance in Chicago and three late-August stops in the Northeast--has nailed down cities and dates for the holiday run, though venues for all but two stops are pending. Details are shown below.
The jaunt kicks off in late November, and wraps up on New Year's Eve. Venues will be announced next month, according to organizers. Additional acts joining Brickman on the bill have not been revealed.
Last year's outing featured singers Jeff Timmons (98 Degrees), Kristy Starling (discovered in a "Today Show" talent search) and Anne Cochran, along with electric violinist Tracy Silverman. All four artists guested on Brickman's 2003 holiday release, "Peace," which features his renditions of a number of classic holiday favorites, as well as several original tracks.
While in the Chicago area on Saturday, Brickman is scheduled to precede his concert at the Ravinia Festival Pavilion with a noon in-store appearance at Borders Books in Deerfield, IL. There, he'll sign autographs and perform songs featured on his latest release, a best-of set that surfaced in March, according to his website.
