Beastie Boys, Green Day, others nabbed for Voodoo fest
Beastie Boys , Green Day , Kid Rock , Velvet Revolver , Pixies, A Tribe Called Quest and Sonic Youth are among the dozens of acts that will appear at this year's Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans.
The event, which has been scaled back from three days to two, takes place at City Park on Oct. 16 and 17. Tickets go on sale on Aug. 2 via Ticketmaster and the event's website, according to a press release. (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)
Other confirmed acts as of Friday (7/23) include Paul Van Dyk, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Polyphonic Spree, The Killers, Cypress Hill, Shinedown, New Found Glory, Phantom Planet, Cowboy Mouth, Snow Patrol, Particle, Supagroup, Wylde Bunch, Killradio, Gooding, Ghost, Gogol Bordello, Metric, De La Soul, Gomez, The Thrills and Alterbridge.
Additional acts will be announced for the six-year-old even; more than 60 artists are expected to perform on three stages.
"Many people in the Voodoo culture believe there are no accidents," promoter Stephen Rehage said in a statement. "And it's no accident that every fall these cultural diehards submerse themselves into the New Orleans underbelly and ignite the diversity of the festival. It's really something you have to experience."
