Lenny Kravitz baptizes audiences this fall
Retro-rocker Lenny Kravitz has nailed down the dates for a fall tour of North America that supports his latest album, "Baptism."
Kravitz will kick things off on the East Coast in mid-September, and the 19-date run--which so far includes a lone Canadian stop--stretches into mid-October. Details are shown below.
Robert Randolph and the Family Band will hold down the tour's opening slot.
Concertgoers can expect to hear material from "Baptism," as well as hits from throughout Kravitz's 15-year career, according to tour promoter Clear Channel Entertainment.
Released in May, "Baptism" is Kravitz's seventh studio set, and follows 2002's "Lenny." The new set features the cuts "Where Are We Runnin'," "Storm" (featuring Jay-Z and remixed by Just Blaze) and "California," the video for which is in rotation on VH1.
Kravitz wrote, produced and arranged "Baptism" on his own, and also played all of the instruments on the set, including guitar, bass, piano and drums.
In addition to his tour plans, Kravitz is scheduled to perform at the 2004 Teen Choice Awards on Aug. 8, and is slated to give an outdoor concert on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles for "The Jimmy Kimmel Show" on Aug. 9, according to a press release.
