Briefly: John Fogerty, Janet Jackson, Beach Boys, Oak Ridge Boys
John Fogerty 's first new album in seven years, "Deja Vu All Over Again," hits stores on Sept. 21, according to Geffen Records.
The self-produced set features Kenny Aronoff on drums; Jerry Douglas on dobro; Viktor Krauss on bass; Benmont Tench on organ; and Fogerty himself, Mark Knopfler and Dean Parks on guitar.
Fogerty will appear on this fall's Vote for Change tour, playing his material while backed by The E Street Band.
Janet Jackson will guest star on an upcoming episode of the NBC comedy "Will & Grace," playing herself. The episode is expected to air in September.
The Beach Boys have licensed 30 of their songs for use in "Good Vibrations," a new Broadway show that's expected to open in January.
William Lee Golden, the baritone in country group The Oak Ridge Boys known for his long beard, suffered a mild heart attack in Wisconsin on Saturday (8/7), according to a statement on the group's official website.
Golden underwent emergency surgery, during which a stent was inserted for a severely blocked artery.
The Oak Ridge Boys don't plan to cancel any shows during Golden's recovery, which is expected to take a few months. Golden's son Chris will help with harmonies along with Jimmy Fulbright, the band's bass player.
