Green Day to hype new album with club shows
California pop-punkers Green Day , kick off support of their forthcoming album, "American Idiot," with a September mini-tour that touches down at clubs in four cities.
The outing--which bookends the set's Sept. 21 release date--visits Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Toronto. Ticket information hadn't been announced at press time.
Green Day is also planning a fall tour with New Found Glory and Sugarcult, the itinerary for which hasn't been announced.
The title track from "American Idiot," which serves as the album's first single, is streaming at Green Day's official website. It will also appear on the "Madden 2005" video game, which is due in stores on Aug. 17.
"American Idiot" is Green Day's first collection of new material since 2000's "Warning."
