Godsmack slips acoustic tour between Metallica dates
Godsmack makes the most of some late-summer/early fall downtime from its opening stint on Metallica 's tour to squeeze in some acoustic dates of its own.
The Boston-based rockers--who have spent much of the year on the road with Metallica--have unveiled mid-September stops in seven western-U.S. cities. Tickets for several shows hit the box office between Friday and Saturday (8/13-14). Details are shown below.
Earlier this year, Godsmack released "The Other Side," an acoustic EP that features unplugged versions of previously released material, as well as three new cuts, including the band's latest single, "Touche." Singer Sully Erna co-wrote the track with Dropbox frontman John Kosco, who also contributed vocals to the song. Kosco and Dropbox guitarist Lee Richards are scheduled to perform the song with Godsmack at all of the group's upcoming Metallica tour and acoustic tour performances, according to Godsmack's website.
"The Other Side" follows Godsmack's most recent full-length, last year's "Faceless."
On Sept. 14, Godsmack releases "Changes," a live DVD recorded earlier this year that will also include behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with all four band members. The film will play in select movie theaters on the eve of its release.
