Rockers Kittie [ tickets ] have cancelled the remaining dates on their summer tour--which was scheduled to run through the end of the month--because drummer Mercedes Lander is suffering from severe dehydration and exhaustion.

Lander was hospitalized Wednesday (8/11) in Cleveland, and the group called off its planned show that night. She was released from the hospital, and the group expected to perform in Cincinnati on Thursday (8/12). However, Lander again became ill before the show, and she returned home to Canada for further tests.

The band hopes to make up the missed dates later this year, according to a statement on its official website.

Britney Spears [ tickets ] has recorded a cover of Bobby Brown's "My Prerogative," which will be the first single from her forthcoming greatest hits album. The single is set for release in September, and the best-of album is due in November.

"Genius Loves Company," a duets album that Ray Charles [ tickets ] completed before his death, will hit stores on Aug. 31. Elton John [ tickets ], Norah Jones, James Taylor and Willie Nelson are among the artists Charles collaborated with for the set.

Athens, GA, rock band Five Eight [ tickets ]'s sixth album, which was released independently with limited distribution earlier this year, will be issued nationally on Aug. 24. The self-titled set is the group's first album since 2000's critically lauded "The Good Nurse."
