Neil Young will play a solo-acoustic benefit concert on Sept. 15 at Berkeley, CA's Community Theatre.
Jonathan Richman --backed by Tommy Larkins and Joanna Newsom--will open the show; tickets hit the market on Sunday (8/22).
Proceeds will benefit Destiny Arts Center, Dennis Alley's Great American Indian Youth Program and Aboriginal Voices Radio Network, according to promoter Another Planet Entertainment.
St. Louis rapper Chingy issues his sophomore album, "Powerballin'," on Nov. 16, according to Capitol Records.
The first single, "Balla Baby," hits radio next month, and a video--directed by Jeremy Rall--will be shot next week in Los Angeles.
Chingy's debut set, last year's "Jackpot," is certified triple-platinum for shipping more than 3 million copies.
R&B veteran Percy Sledge , famous for his 1966 hit "When a Man Love a Woman," issues a new album titled "Shining Through the Rain" on Aug. 31. It's been nine year's since Sledge's previous release, 1994's Grammy-nominated "Blue Night."
D-Roc (Dennis Miles)--a guitarist in Ice-T's rock group Body Count --died on Tuesday (8/17) of complications from lymphoma. He was 45.
