A Perfect Circle [ tickets ] will issue a new album of originals and covers dubbed "eMOTIVe" on Nov. 2--Election Day in the U.S.

In a press release, frontman Maynard James Keenan describes the set as "a collection of songs about war, peace, love and greed." Among the covers are John Lennon's "Imagine," Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On" and Fear's "Let's Have a War."

"Remember," Keenan's statement said. "Every single vote counts. It is important for us all to engage this political system and to be conscious of who is being chosen to speak for us."

Scottish trio The Blue Nile [ tickets ] issue their first new studio album since 1996's "Peace at Last" on Aug. 31. The new set, titled "High," is the fourth album of the band's 21-year run, and its first for Sanctuary Records.

The Recording Industry Association of America announced this week that it has filed 744 new lawsuits against people it claims have illegally traded or downloaded copyrighted music.

Chuck Berry [ tickets ] will headline the 7th annual Doheny Blues Festival, set for Sept. 18 at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, CA.
