Alan Jackson racks up seven CMA Awards nominations
Singer Alan Jackson leads the pack of nominees for this year's CMA Awards seven nods, including Entertainer of the Year.
Other multiple-award nominees include Toby Keith , who is vying for six trophies; and Kenny Chesney , Alison Krauss and Gretchen Wilson , who are each up for five awards.
Besides Entertainer of the Year, Jackson is nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year ("Remember When"), Music Video of the Year ("It's Five O'clock Somewhere" with Jimmy Buffett, and "Remember When"), and Song of the Year ("Remember When").
Keith follows close behind with nominations for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year ("I Love This Bar"), Album of the Year ("Shock 'N Y'all") and Music Video of the Year ("I Love This Bar").
Additionally, both Jackson and Keith are in position to share an award with Jimmy Buffett, Clint Black, Kenney Chesney and George Strait for their turn on Buffett's "Hey Good Lookin'," which is among the nominees for Musical Event of the Year.
Last year, Jackson picked up three awards--including Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year--while Keith, who led the pack with seven nominations, went home empty-handed.
Terri Clark, Sara Evans, Alison Krauss, Martina McBride and Reba McEntire will square off for the Female Vocalist of the Year award.
A complete list of nominees appears below.
"The 38th Annual CMA Awards" program is scheduled to air live on CBS on Nov. 9. Country duo Brooks & Dunn will host, taking over for Vince Gill, who has hosted the ceremony for the past 12 years.
