Rich Robinson takes his solo show on the road this fall
Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson --who spent part of the summer playing multi-night runs in three Northeastern cities--branches out into some new territory this fall.
Robinson will back his recently released solo debut with a month-long outing that kicks off on Sept. 16, and makes stops throughout the Northeast and Midwest. Details are shown below.
The itinerary includes stops in New York City and Philadelphia, two of the three cities in which Robinson played multiple shows from late June through early July to preview his Aug. 24 release, "Paper."
Robinson--chief songwriter for The Black Crowes --wrote all of the music and lyrics, sang all of the lead and background vocals, played all of the guitar and bass parts, and contributed percussion and keyboard parts to his solo debut.
"I named the album 'Paper' because this is all a blank sheet of paper to me; it's fragile and new," Robinson said in a statement. "For 15 years, I wrote for [brother and Black Crowes lead-singer] Chris' voice, but this is for me."
Samples of all of the cuts on "Paper" are streaming at Robinson's website.
Meanwhile, Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson recently scrapped plans for a fall solo tour, and reportedly attended a meeting with Rich and former Crowes manager Pete Angelus, fueling speculation that the brothers are hammering out plans for a Black Crowes reunion.
A spokesperson could not be reached at press time to comment on the rumor.
