KORN Announces North American Tour Itinerary

Breaking the news on its official website, KORN has unveiled its North American touring plans for 2000. The itinerary, which is subject to change, shows a Feb. 19 opening in Miami.

The band announced its plans to tour at a press conference last month, but didn't release any dates or venues at the time. No on-sale dates have been announced.

After wrapping up its North American dates in mid-April, the hard-rocking quintet will embark on a European tour.

KORN's fourth album, ''Issues,'' was released on Nov. 16. It topped the Billboard 200 album chart in its debut week with 573,785 copies sold.

Two weeks ago, the band drew a crowd of 2,000 to an in-store appearance at a Tower Records store in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley. Fans were treated to a production that included bagpipe players and circus performers, as well as an autograph session.

The Los Angeles appearance came on the heels of a performance at Harlem's Apollo Theatre in New York, where the band played ''Issues'' in its entirety and in sequence. There, the band was backed by a choir and a bagpipes and drum corps.

The band, which owns a stake in the Family Values Tour, appeared at only a few of that tour's stops and ceded the headlining slot to Limp Bizkit in order to put the finishing touches on the new album.

''Issues'' is KORN's follow-up to triple-Platinum album ''Follow The Leader,'' which was released in August of 1998.
