Bob Dylan maps fall tour of college venues

Bob Dylan recently wrapped up a tour of minor-league baseball parks with Willie Nelson, but the rock legend will continue his roadwork this fall with a trek that touches down at college campuses.

A handful of dates in California and the Midwest have already surfaced, and more shows will be announced in the coming days and weeks, according to Dylan's camp.

On Oct. 1, Simon & Schuster will release the Dylan-penned book "Chronicles: Volume 1," the first in a series of his personal histories. The volume is "comprised of first-person narratives focusing on significant periods in Dylan's life and career," according to his official website.

Simon & Schuster will simultaneously release an updated edition of "Lyrics: 1962-2001, which contains lyrics to nearly all of Dylan's songs.

Meanwhile, "Bob Dylan's American Journey, 1956-1966," billed as the first comprehensive exhibit dedicated to Dylan's early career, opens Nov. 20 at Experience Music Project, a Seattle pop-music museum.
